Under extreme conditions of high temperature and density, QCD matter transitions into a deconfined state known as quark-gluon plasma (QGP), where quarks and gluons become the fundamental degrees of freedom. In relativistic heavy-ion collisions, the nuclear modification effects observed in jets and heavy quarks provide strong evidence for the formation of QGP and serve as effective "hard probes" for the quantitative study of its properties. This workshop will focus on jets and heavy quarks, discussing recent theoretical and experimental progress in precisely extracting QGP properties from relativistic heavy-ion collisions, as well as their potential applications in exploring cold nuclear matter in future electron-ion collisions.
