Description
Heavy quarkonia provide ideal probes of strong interactions in both the perturbative and nonperturbative regimes. They have therefore been extensively studied at a wide range of accelerator-based high-energy experiments, including electron-positron colliders such as BESIII, Belle, and LEP, as well as at future facilities. However, NNLO QCD predictions for quarkonium production and decay processes are known to suffer from perturbative instabilities. We identify the origin of this instability and propose a remedy that significantly improves the perturbative stability of the NNLO predictions and the agreement between theory and data.
