The MeV Gamma-ray Science Workshop 2026 will be held in Suzhou, China (Nanjing University Suzhou Campus) from November 13 to 15, 2026, hosted by the Institute of High Energy Physics, China and Nanjing University.
The MeV band remains one of the most under-explored windows in astrophysics. This workshop aims to bring together experts from the MeV gamma-ray community to shape the future of the field, driven by next-generation observation facilities. The meeting will be highly discussion-driven, featuring a format of in-person presentations and working group discussions.
The core objectives for this workshops are:
- Finalize the Science White Paper: Review and present sectional drafts to consolidate and finalize the comprehensive MeV white paper for upcoming submission.
- Refine Key Science Objectives: Engage in deep discussions on the proposed science to identify and highlight the unique, high-impact goals for future MeV observations.
- Bridge Science and Instrumentation: Discuss instrument designs to ensure future payloads can successfully fulfill these proposed scientific goals.
Schedule: Arrive (Registration): 13th November (Friday). Departure: 16th November (Monday). The conference will be held from the 14th November (Saturday) to 15th November (Sunday).
The workshop sessions will be conducted in English, and we anticipate ~50 participants to join us. There is no registration fee. Coffee breaks and meals will be provided. Interested participants should complete the registration form by Friday Oct 23, 2026. Lodging will be arranged in a unified manner and the expenses are to be covered by the participants themselves.
