Description
The Lambda_c is the lightest heavy baryon, which contains a charmed quark among the constituent quarks. Studying its decays provide key probes to understand the weak and strong interactions inside the baryon. However, compared to the charmed mesons (D or Ds), knowledge on its decay branching fractions are rather limited. In 2014, the Beijing Spectrometer (BESIII) experiment accumulated a data sample of e+e− annihilations with an integrated luminosity of 567/pb at the center-of-mass energy of 4.599 GeV, about 26 MeV above the Lambda_c pair mass threshold. Based on this dataset, for the first time, BESIII implemented direct measurements on the branching fractions. In this talk, the recent BESIII results will be reported and its future prospects will be discussed.
