CEPC physics+detector regular meeting (20 Mar 2017)

1. Discussion about Wuhan meeting
Joao suggested to decide the reports topic of each session ASAP, especially for the Joint Sessions. The “Theory plus Physics and Detector” part needs a volunteer convener, and for “Accelerator plus Physics and Detector” part, we should discuss the topic of report. Joao asked the group members to send their suggestion or decision to him in the next few days.
2. Hongbo gave a Status report on MDI
He introduced the update on machine parameters, Magnet, Beam Pipes, SR, LumiCal, etc., and also mentioned the next step for every parts.

On slides14, what is the number of adequate statistics?
Hongbo said that the number will be much lower than the precision we choose.
3. Strahinja gave a report on Luminosity measurement
The report is about Vinca HEP group’s plan for the activity “Luminosity measurement at CepC. Main goals are the conceptual design of the luminometer and the estimate of measurement uncertainties. Now there are 3-4 people from Vinča involved, and they plan some regular exchange with MDI desired in the beginning.
Joao said we are welcome to cooperate with Vinca HEP group, especially for MDI, it needs more man powers.
4. Tao gave a ECAL Status Report
He showed the update on scintillator strip optimization, SiPM response curve study, readout electronics, cooling system and MC optimization.
After the talk, Joao asked about the ECAL’s time plan for CDR. Tao said that for the compiling results for SiPM and scintillator can be finished in a few months. However, for other issues, like the layers number and cell size, they are related to software group, so the time is hard to be decided now. Joao reminded the deadline for finalizing the CDR content is in September, so the progress need to move on quickly.
5. Roberto gave a report on Dual Readout Calorimeter
After the talk, people discussed to choose a good time to have a meeting with calorimeter and software group. Joao also reminded that the time scale for CDR need to be planned soon.
6. Haijun gave a report on Status of Hadron Calorimeter
Handgun mentioned that for CDR, they are now working on version_3 document, but it is not the final version, some sections need to be discussed, like full simulation etc. Joao suggested to have a meeting with simulation group to decide the next step.
