Description
Abstract:
When the lightest four quarks (u, d, s and c) are included, the quark model predicts hadrons that form SU(4) multiplets, among which Xicc++ (ccu), Xicc+ (ccd) and Omegacc+ are referred to doubly charmed baryons since the charm quantum number of them is C=2. Recently the LHCb experiment was charmed to announce the observation of the doubly charmed baryon Xicc++ using the proton-proton collision data collected with the LHCb experiment in 2016, which was confirmed in an additional sample collected at 8 TeV in 2012.
Some details of this observation will be presented in this talk.
- Speaker: Prof. Zhenwei Yang, (Tsinghua University)
Zhenwei Yang is an associate professor of Department of Engineering Physics. He received his PhD in Physics Department of Tsinghua University in 2004, and then moved to the Deparmtment of Engineering Physics for high energy physics experiments. Since the start of the LHC, Zhenwei Yang has been focused on the LHCb experiment, contributing to the studies of heavy quark and quarkonium production and spectroscopy both in pp collisions and in heavy-ion collisions. Owing to his significant contributions, he was appointed to serve as the convener of the "Production and Polarisation" subgroup under the Physics Working Group "B-hadron and Quarknonium" in January 2013 to March 2015, and then selected to serve as the convener of the "B-hadron and Quarknonium" in January 2015 to March 2017.
