The absolute light yields of PURE NaI/CsI crystal at cryogenic temperatures can be twice higher than Tl-doped NaI/CsI at room temperature. Equiped with cryogenic light sensors, such as PMT, SiPM and TES, these crystals can be used to verify the dark matter annual modulation signal claimed by the DAMA collaboration. The system can also be used to reach an energy threshold as low as a few tens of eV, which makes it a great way to detect low mass dark matter or coherent neutrino-nucleus scatterings. A proof-of-concept experiment was performed and the light yield acheived was 4 times higher than that was obtained in the KIMS experiment.
