Description
China Spallation Neutron Source (CSNS)) is a high intensity proton accelerator based facility for delivering spallation neutrons to users. It consists of an 80-MeV H- DTL linac, and a 1.6-GeV Rapid Cycling Synchrotron and a neutron production target. The accelerators will provide 100kW proton beam for neutron target. The construction began in 2011, and completed in 2018. From Aug. 2018, the facility was open to users. Now the facility is operation with beam power of 80kW. The introduction to the construction, beam commissioning and operation will be given, including the gradually increased beam power and availability. The plan for upgrading to 500kW will be also introduced in the presentation.
