Description
This paper studies two main partial decay channels f0(980) → KK and f0(980) → ππ
by imposing saturation of compositeness relationship and decay width formula. Referring to the pole parameter of f0(980) comes from dispersive analysis, we calculate a series of partial decay widths and coupling coefficients for each channel. Then the values of the branching ratio help predict the compositeness coefficient for each channel.
Summary
The important feature of the f0(980) resonance has dominant components of KK¯ and it is coupling much more strongly to KK channel than to ππ. Then, we use the a group of branching ratio values to dig more information of the f0(980) resonance. The f0(980) also has other components in its composition beyond the states ππ and KK. The ππ component determines the width scale of f0(980) but the coupling and compositeness to ππ are much smaller than KK, which explains the suppressed width of the f0(980).
