The Institute of Modern Physics at Fudan University in Shanghai now invites applications for postdoctoral researcher positions starting in fall 2020 or earlier. The positions are for two years, with a possible extension for one additional year.
The local research group at Fudan focuses on experimental nuclear physics study from low energy to intermediate and high energies. Related topics include, but are not limited to, radioactive ion beam physics, R&D of detector and electronics, collective dynamics in large and small colliding systems, QCD phase transition and critical point, chirality, vorticity, polarization effects in Quark-Gluon Plasma. There is also a strong connection with theorists from the same group.

2. Research positions - LHCb experiment
Job description:
The LHCb group at the South China Normal University (SCNU) is inviting applications for one or two postdoc research associate positions that can open immediately.
The SCNU group joined the LHCb experiment in June 2018, is interested in Heavy Ion physics and Electroweak (EW) physics, and the development and maintenance of the DAQ system and physics analysis algorithms. The group is also planning to participate the LHCb Phase II upgrade.
Successful candidates are expected to work on physics analysis together with one or two services tasks such as preparation of the run 3 data taking and/or the phase II upgrade subject to the candidates' interests and the group needs.
Successful candidates will be based at SCNU in Guangzhou with frequent travels to CERN. Besides the gross salary provided by the university (See the university job post at Nature Careers: https://www.nature.com/naturecareers/employer/12036), a decent travel per-diem will be provided by the team funding for periods staying at CERN.
Successful candidates should have a PhD in Particle Physics or Nuclear Physics and fluent English communication skills, preferably under 35 years old.
Candidates holding a PhD in theoretical Particle Physics or Nuclear Physics are also encouraged to apply.

3. Postdoc Positions - STAR group @Shandong University
The Key Laboratory of Particle Physics and Particle Irradiation (MOE) at Shandong University seeks a postdoctoral research fellow to join our Experimental High Energy Nuclear Physics efforts on the STAR experiment at RHIC.
The STAR group at Shandong University is taking important roles in heavy ion physics analyses, including collective dynamics in large and small systems, jet and energy loss, EM probes, heavy flavor, QCD phase transition and critical point. The team also has pronounced experience on detector R&D.
The successful applicant is expected to help continue SDU’s key role in STAR’s heavy ion program, with the opportunity to work on STAR’s forward upgrade. This postdoc will be based at Shandong University in Qingdao, China with frequent travels to BNL in USA. The appointment is initially for two years with the possibility of renewal based upon satisfactory job performance and continuing availability of funds.
The Post Doctoral Scholar will contribute to papers that will be published in research journals, and travel to scientific workshops and conferences. The postdoc is also expected to begin developing an independent research program on STAR and work with, mentor, and educate graduate and undergraduate students as part of the postdoc's professional development.

4. Postdoc Position at University of Chinese Academy of Sciences
The high energy nuclear theory group at the School of Nuclear Science and Technology of University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (UCAS) in Beijing invites 2-3 applications for postdoctoral positions. The applicant is expected to work with Prof. Mei Huang on QCD phase structure under extreme conditions, QCD critical end point (CEP), phenomenology on heavy-ion collisions and compact stars, as well as non-perturbative QCD methods like holographic QCD.
The positions can start anytime in 2020 or 2021, and will initially be for two years, with the possibility of extension to three years depending on funding constraints. Salary will be in the range of 350,000~400,000 RMB per year, depending on experience and performance. For full consideration, the application documents should be received before Sep. 15th, 2020.

The IGFAE at University of Santiago de Compostela and LIP in Lisbon invite applications for three postdoctoral positions within the ERC Advanced Grant project “Yoctosecond imaging of QCD collectivity using jet observables”. In particular we anticipate two positions in topics related with jet quenching theory and phenomenology / parton showers-Monte Carlo and one position related with Saturation/Color Glass Condensate.
