Abstract: I will review hydrodynamics near the O(4) critical point. In the low temperature phase, the hydro theory reduces to ordinary hydrodynamics coupled to soft pions. I discuss the hydrokinetic approximations of this theory. These approximations provide a Boltzmann equation for the soft pions with a specific dispersion curve. I suggest that this modified dispersion curve may be necessary to explain existing data on soft pion production in heavy ion collisions. At higher temperatures the sigma mode has to be included. Once this is done, the iso-axial current-current correlator has a remarkable structure, which can be used to calculate the hadronization dynamics of soft pions from first principles. Finally, I compute the contribution of the critical modes to the transport coefficients of QCD, and make some estimates.
