Discussion of Detector Project R&D Tasks
MDI: Hongbo will send new version before tomorrow.
Vertex Detector Optimization by Hao Zeng
Hao made a presentation for update on Vertex Detector Optimization. New optimal vertex layout which combines the new beam pipe design and previous optimal vertex layout is studied. The performance of this new optimal vertex is much better than the realistic implementation of CDR vertex and realistic long barrel vertex (20% and even more).
Harald mentioned that his group is also using some fast simulation software for vertex optimization study. Now people are using several different tools for silmuation, we should have weekly meeting to communicate and cross check with each other. Also do we need to converge to one software as official tool?
Joao: TKLayout is a good tool. It’s acceptable to have different tools at same time, because these last simulation softwares are just to be used for finalizing design and import to full simulation.
Key4hep and its application to the CEPCSW by Tao Lin:
Joao: In page 6, the key for Pandora is only is CEPCSW, not yet in common software.
Tao: Yes, they will add it to common software.
Weidong: This Key4hep project is still in early stage. They will have a kickoff- meeting in March.
