High Energy Photon Source (HEPS) is a 6GeV fourth generation synchrotron light source, open to global users in the second half of 2026. As a coming flagship light source, HEPS is an excellent platerform for international collaboration on techniques and application. Supported by Chinese Academy Science, HEPS will launch a BRICS Summer School on Advanced Photon Source Technology and Applications (BRICS-SAPSTA)in July 2026. The school is dedicated to promote the collaborations between BRICS countries. The school will provide the lectures on X-ray methodology and application with beamline practice. Besides the course and activity in HEPS, the school will travel to Shanghai at the end, to visit Shanghai Synchrotron Radiation Facility and Soft XFEL

BRICS-SAPSTA aims to bring together talented PhD students,Postdoctorals and young professionals to this cutting edge facility. The ten-day intensive program provides a unique opportunity for participants to learn latest developments in methodology and application in this world-class flagship light source, enhance their professional skills and broaden their perspectives. The school is expected to facilitate synchrotron X-ray methodoloies and applications development in BRICS countries.
