1. Purpose & Scope
The Institute of High Energy Physics (IHEP), Chinese Academy of Sciences, is committed to providing a safe, productive, and welcoming environment for all participants at its international conferences, regardless of race, color, ethnicity, national origin, religion, age, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, disability, physical appearance, or any other characteristic protected by applicable laws.
This Code of Conduct applies to all conference participants, including attendees, speakers, organizers, volunteers, sponsors, exhibitors, and service providers, and governs conduct during all conference sessions, associated social events, and any official online platforms used for the conference.
2. Expected Behavior
All participants are expected to:
- Comply with Laws and Regulations: Abide by the laws and regulations of the People's Republic of China, the rules and policies of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and IHEP, as well as generally accepted scientific ethics and academic integrity.
- Maintain Professionalism: Treat others with respect, courtesy, and fairness. Engage in constructive, fact-based scientific discussion, avoid personal attacks, and respect differing opinions.
- Promote Inclusivity: Contribute to an environment free from harassment, discrimination, and bullying. Use inclusive language, be mindful of cultural differences, and support the participation of colleagues at all career stages.
- Respect Intellectual Property: Do not copy, record, or distribute presentations, posters, or unpublished data without explicit permission from the authors. Comply with applicable data protection and privacy regulations.
- Safeguard Confidentiality: Respect the confidentiality of any sensitive information that may be discussed. If the conference involves restricted or export-controlled data, obey all security notices from the organizers.
- Follow Venue and Safety Rules: Adhere to all health, safety, and security requirements of the conference venue and IHEP campus, including emergency procedures and any COVID-19 or other public health measures.
3. Unacceptable Behavior
Unacceptable behaviors include, but are not limited to:
- Harassment, intimidation, or discrimination in any form, including but not limited to harassing comments, unwelcome sexual attention, stalking, or any verbal, physical, or online abuse.
- Bullying, including repeated personal attacks, humiliation, or exclusion of others.
- Disruption of presentations or conference activities.
- Possession, consumption, or distribution of illegal substances, or intoxication that impairs professional conduct.
- Retaliation against an individual for reporting a violation of this Code or for participating in an investigation.
4. Reporting Procedures
Any participant who experiences or witnesses a violation of this Code of Conduct is encouraged to report it promptly to the conference organizers:

All reports will be treated confidentially to the extent possible. The organizers will promptly review each report and take appropriate action, which may include a private warning, removal from the conference, or, in severe cases, notification to law enforcement or the individual’s home institution.
5. Consequences of Violations
Participants who violate this Code of Conduct may be subject to actions ranging from a verbal warning to immediate removal from the conference without refund, prohibition from attending future IHEP events, and referral to their own institution or relevant authorities. The conference chairs and IHEP management reserve the right to take any action deemed necessary to protect the safety and well-being of all participants and the integrity of the event.
6. Amendments
This Code of Conduct may be amended by the conference chairs or IHEP as necessary. Participants will be notified of any significant changes.
7. Acknowledgement
By registering for or attending this IHEP international conference, participants agree to abide by this Code of Conduct.
