Abstract: The beam energy scan program at the relativistic heavy-ion collider facility started in the year 2010. The physics goal of the program is to study the phase structure of the quantum chromodynamic phase diagram using high energy heavy-ion collisions. In the first phase of the program, data was collected for nine center-of-mass energies of 7.7, 11.5, 14.5, 19.6, 27, 39, 54,4, 62.4 and 200 GeV. These beam energies allowed us to scan the phase diagram within a baryon chemical potential range of 20-400 MeV. In this talk, we will be discussing the results related to the physics topics of (a) Chemical freeze-out, (b) Collectivity, (c) Criticality and (d) Chirality using the data from Au+Au collisions recorded in the STAR detector. We will also discuss the plans regarding the second phase of the program, which will collect high event statistics data at the lower collision energies.
