MOST2 chip design meeting

Asia/Shanghai

  1. Tianya reported the test status of the Tcpx1 chip. By using the full readout chain, the chip was evaluated when exposed to different light sources. The behavior seemed normal. The next step is try to use the trigger function to further suppress the unwanted hit from ALPIDE's side.

  2. Zhang Liang reported the test status of the DACs in Tcpx2 chip. Both the Voltage DACs and Current DACs were found to have normal dynamic range as simulated. However, one issue for the CDAC was that the leakage current at zero input was high to be about 6nA. This have some impact on the pixel threshold for the low energy signals, and this phenomena agreed with the pixel analog test. Another issue was that at some input code, the transfer curve will have a drop, which evenly distributed at the curve. This needs further understanding.

  3. Zhang Ying reported the test status for pixel analog circuit in the Tcpx2 chip. From the scurve scan results of a full column, no obvious gradient effect of the threshold can be found. At the meanwhile, the simulation after the parasitic extraction also proved the IR drop effect of the power nets have little impact on performance. Pixels in Sector 1 and 2 were tested to have similar performance, as designed. However, Sector 3 and 4 were found that the pixels cannot work at the same configuration as 1 & 2, and needed further bias tuning.

  4. The laser platform was almost ready, and we are also preparing for the irradiation test. Both tests will be carried very soon.

  5. We also discussed some topics about the next tapeout. We agreed that before we decide whether to tapeout a MPW or an engineering run, we should have detailed test results of the chip, and should also organize a review for the final decision. If we are going to tapeout for the engineering run, a bidding may be needed at IFAE and have to be proceeded in advance.
