Travel Information to Wuhan and Central China Normal University (CCNU)

Wuhan, the capital of Hubei Province, is a major transportation hub in central China, making it easily accessible from around the globe. Below is a guide to help you plan your travel to Central China Normal University (CCNU).

1. Arriving in Wuhan

  • By Air:
    Wuhan is served by Wuhan Tianhe International Airport (WUH), which has direct flights to and from major cities in China and worldwide, including Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Hong Kong, Tokyo, Bangkok, Osaka, Seoul, Singapore, London, Dubai, San Francisco.

    • From the airport, you can take a taxi (approximately 45 minutes, 100-120 CNY) or the metro (Line 2, get off at Guangbutun Station) to CCNU.

    • For international travelers, we will also arrange pick-up at the airport, from/to CCNU.

  • By Train:
    Wuhan is a major railway hub with three main train stations: Wuhan Railway StationHankou Railway Station, and Wuchang Railway Station. High-speed trains connect Wuhan to cities across China, including Beijing (4-5 hours), Shanghai (4-5 hours), Guangzhou (3.5-4 hours), and Shenzhen (4-5 hours).

    • From any of the train stations, you can take a taxi or metro (get off at Guangbutun Station) to CCNU.

    • For international travelers, we will also arrange pick-up from/to CCNU.

2. Local Transportation in Wuhan

  • Metro: Wuhan has an extensive metro system that is efficient and easy to navigate. Fares range from 2-7 CNY depending on the distance.

  • Taxis: Taxis are widely available and affordable.

  • Ride-Hailing Apps: Apps like Didi Chuxing (China’s equivalent of Uber) are convenient for getting around the city.

3. Accommodation

We will cover the accommodation for all registered participants from outside of Wuhan. The hotel is on Campus and the physics building is within 7mins of walk.

Please indicate your dates of arrival and departure in the registration form and we will book the hotel for you from the University.
