Description
Plasma acceleration is a novel acceleration principle featuring a high acceleration gradient. The Plasma Wakefield Acceleration (PWFA) facility at the Institute of High Energy Physics (IHEP) comprises two beamlines, Beamline 1 (BL1) and Beamline 2 (BL2). BL1 delivers positron and electron beams produced by the BEPCII linac at energies up to 2 GeV for plasma acceleration experiments. BL2 is a newly constructed linac with an energy of 150 MeV and bunch charge exceeding 5 nC. Both BL1 and BL2 are under beam commissioning.
Pyapas is a Python-based new modular framework for high-level application originally development at HEPS. Its hardware communication relies on the EPICS Channel Access protocol. In this work, we present the porting and adaptation of Pyapas to the PWFA experimental platform, as well as its application in beam commissioning.
