Description
Developing an IOC for a new device typically takes two days or more by hand, and most of that time goes into reading and analysing the device protocol. Large language models are good at text analysis and code generation, so LLM and AI agent can help with IOC development. We distilled our IOC development experience at VIGAS into an agent skill that constrains and guides the AI agent's behaviour. Development time drops to half a day. The resulting code follows VIGAS conventions and comes with complete and consistent documentation. The workflow as a whole carries less risk than doing it by hand. We have used the skill for IOC development at VIGAS and in several other projects.
