Description
After CSNS went into operation, the control group developed a set of web-based applications for operation and maintenance. This effort accumulated significant software development skills and experience. Building on this foundation, CSNS began contributing to the EPICS community by providing both new tools deployable by other laboratories and source code contributions to existing projects.
These contributions cover database applications, the Node.js ecosystem, web tools, and collaboration on classic repositories. In the database area, we developed clog (a compact electronic logbook), elog-mobile (a mobile web client for PSI Elog), and e-traveler with a modern technology stack. For the Node.js ecosystem, packages like node-epics-ca, node-epics-pcas, and node-epics-pvxs enable web services to interface with EPICS. Our web tools include capva (unifying CA and PVA in Python), epics-rest-ws (exposing REST/WebSocket access), web-pvtools (browser-based PV tools), and archiver-status. Beyond these standalone packages, CSNS has also contributed source code to major projects including Phoebus, the EPICS Archiver Appliance, and pyepics.
This talk will present these packages and patches. All independent tools are available on GitHub under the MIT license or similar open-source licenses.
