Simatai Great Wall Visiting Introduction
Simatai Great Wall is a part of Great Wall of Ming Dynasty. Most of this part preserves original appearance, which gives it a strong sense of history. Simatai Great Wall has been divided into two parts by Yuanyang Lake, and we will visit the east part, which contains about 16 towers but only 10 are opening at this present. One can take a walk or shuttle bus from entrance to East 2nd Tower (about 2 km), and climb up to East 10th Tower. The distance from 2nd Tower to 10th Tower is about 1.5 km which will demand 1-2 hours in climbing. The altitude will rise from 300m up to about 700m. Cableway is available too. The upstream cableway station is connected with the 5th and 8th tower by path, which will provide a relative easy way to enjoy the visit.
