About SPLG
SPLG (International Workshop on Separation Phenomena in Liquids and Gases) has a long history of over 40 years. It began in Stockholm, Sweden in 1975 under the title “Workshop on Gases in Strong Rotation”, which armed at exchanging academic information especially regarding gas centrifuges. Under this title, the workshop was held another 5 times, respectively, in Cadarache, France (1977), Rome, Italy (1979), Oxford, Great Britain (1981), Charlottesville, USA (1983), and Tokyo, Japan (1985). Hereafter, the title of the workshop was changed to the current one “Separation Phenomena in Liquids and Gases”, and the topics were broadened to cover a variety of separation phenomena, not only in gas centrifuges but also in all kinds of possible equipment and devices by different types of methods. Gradually, applications of isotopes also gradually became a subject of discussion, and then nuclear safeguards and nonproliferation, and other issues related to separation. With this title another 14 workshop were held in: Darmstadt, Germany (1987), Versailles, France (1989), Charlottesville, USA (1992), Beijing, China (1994), Iguassu, Brazil (1996), Nagoya, Japan (1998), Moscow, Russia (2000), Oak Ridge, USA (2003), Beijing, China (2006), Angra dos Reis, Brazil (2008), St. Petersburg, Russia (2010), Paris, France (2012), San Carlos de Bariloche, Argentina (2015), and Stresa, Italy (2017).
