Summary
Strong magnetic fields can be generated through non-central heavy ion collision, however, it is not clear how the magnetic field evolves in the medium and how large magnitude of the magnetic field remains at freeze-out. We propose a method to detect the magnitude of the magnetic field at freeze-out through meson properties under magnetic field. By using the masses of charged pion and rho properties under magnetic fields, we calculate the number of corresponding meson produced in a collision through the simulation in the framework of iEBE-VISHNU. The number of mesons behaves as a function of mass according to Cooper-Frye formula, thus we can determine the magnitude of the magnetic field at late time of a collision.
