The IHEP campus, located approximately 46 km from the Beijing Capital International Airport (PEK), can be reached by taxi, subway or shuttle bus.
Taxi as the most convenient option is strongly suggested. If you are familiar with the Beijing public transportation system and want to experience it, subway or shuttle bus can be the alternative options.
1. By taxi:
You can find a taxi right outside arrival halls. It takes roughly a hour from the airport to IHEP. The fare is ~150 CNY (~25 USD). If you take a taxi to your Hotel, please show the following instruction ① or ② to the taxi driver.
Tips: Please do not take a taxi from anyone soliciting business other than at the official taxi lines.
2. By subway:
You can take the Airport Express Line from the "Airport"(机场) Station to the "Dong Zhi Men" (东直门) Station, where you will transfer to Line 2. Then change from Line 2 to Line 1 at the "Jian Guo Men"(建国门) Station. Please take the Line 1 in the direction to "Ping Guo Yuan" (苹果园) and get off at the "Yu Quan Lu" (玉泉路) Station. Take the north-west exit (Port A) and the IHEP campus is just at the north-west corner of the traffic cross. You can enter the campus via the southern gate or the eastern gate, both near the Subway Port A. The total fare for the subway is around 30 CNY.
Tips: since one will have to change several lines, it is not suggested for participants carrying heavy luggage to use subway.
3. Airport shuttle bus:
The airport shuttle bus service can be found at: http://en.bcia.com.cn/traffic/airbus/index.shtml
Currently two routes of the airport bus service can be used, namely Line 4 ("Gong Zhu Fen", 公主坟) and Line 16 ("Shi Jing Shan", 石景山). The shuttle fare is 25～30 CNY. For Line 4, please get off at the destination stop "Gong Zhu Fen" (公主坟). For Line 16, stops starting from "North Wukesong Bridge" (五棵松桥北) are not far from IHEP and thus fine to get off. Then you will need to take a taxi to your hotel, with the taxi fare ~25 CNY.
If you want to take an airport shuttle bus to "Gong Zhu Fen" or "Shi Jing Shan", please show the following tag ③ to the airport check-in staff. When you arrive to "Gong Zhu Fen", please show the instruction ① or ② to the taxi driver.
When you take a taxi, please show either instruction ①② to the taxi driver, depending on where your hotel is:

Please take me to the Holiday Inn Changan West at Yongding Road.
② 请送我到玉泉路（19号乙）高能物理研究所的专家招待所
Please take me to the IHEP Guest House at Yuquan Road.
