Eduardo Solano is a beamline scientist and currently manager of BL11 NCD-SWEET, the hard X-ray scattering beamline at ALBA Synchrotron (Spain). His expertise lies in grazing-incidence X-ray scattering, particularly GISAXS and GIWAXS, which he has developed and applied at ALBA to support a broad range of scientific studies within the user community.
His work focuses on developing and applying in situ and operando X-ray scattering approaches to investigate structural evolution under realistic conditions. His research interests include nanomaterials, energy-related systems, and catalysis, with a particular interest in combining scattering with complementary techniques to understand dynamic processes.
He is currently leading the transition of NCD-SWEET towards ALBA II, contributing to the development of its future scattering program and experimental capabilities, including the integration of X-ray imaging and correlative approaches. He has authored or co-authored more than 140 scientific publications and has led and participated in national and international research projects, as well as serving on international scientific panels and expert committees related to synchrotron-based characterization and X-ray scattering.
