The 8th Huada School on QCD will be held in Central China Normal University (CCNU), Wuhan, China, during the week of May 6th (May 6-10), 2019.
The Huada QCD School is an annual school which aims to provide basic training in strong interaction physics for graduate students, postdocs and young researchers in the field of high-energy nuclear and particle physics. This year’s topic is centered on nuclear astrophysics and dense QCD.
We have invited three world experts on the physics of neutron stars
- Prof. Gordon Baym (University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign)
- Prof. Sanjay Reddy (INT, University of Washington)
- Prof. Yuichiro Sekiguchi (Toho University)
to give pedagogic lectures on static and dynamical phenomena of neutron stars as well as the properties dense matter in QCD.
4 days (May 6-9, Monday-Thursday) are reserved for the lectures and 1 day (May 10, Friday) for a symposium.
The 1-day symposium mostly consists of invited talks. If you plan to give a contributed talk, please directly contact the organizers.
The students and posdocs participating in the school are also encouraged to give short talks. With enough amount of contributions we will arrange student sessions in the lecture days.
There is no registration fee for attending the school. Food will be provided by the organizers. The participants are responsible for the expenses of their travel and local accommodation. Basically the accommodation will be arranged by the local organizers (please make your choice in the registration process. For more details please take a look at the menu accommodation). International participants may apply for local financial support.
The total number of participants for the school is limited to keep the size of the school reasonable. Please register as soon as possible.
